How Shall We Stand?

Ephesians 6:13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able
to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.There are several words and phrases in Ephesians 6:10-20 that reference strength and warfare. Be strong, power, might, stand against, wrestle, whole armor of God, withstand, stand therefore; all of them teach us that we are in a battle with an enemy. To be an effective soldier, one must put on the armor. As we read this passage, we see exactly how we should stand as soldiers for Christ.

  1. Stand strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. – vs.10
  2. Stand in the whole armor of God. – vs.11,13
  3. Stand fully aware of our enemy. – vs.11,12
  4. Stand with the truth. – vs.14a
  5. Stand in righteousness. – vs.14b
  6. Stand in the preparation of the gospel of peace. – vs.15
  7. Stand in faith. – vs.16
  8. Stand in the knowledge and understanding of our salvation. – vs.17a
  9. Stand with the Word of God. – vs.17b
  10. Stand in prayer. – vs.18-20
