Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
It has been said that the only thing in life that never changes is the fact that everything will change. Nothing remains the same. Now, more than ever, we see that reality playing out before our eyes on a daily basis. We never know when a phone call, a conversation with a doctor, a natural disaster, or an act of human cruelty will change our lives dramatically. I am so glad to know Jesus as my Savior in these chaotic times. He has promised to never change. He remains the same, no matter what. Praise God!!!
- His Declaration
In Malachi 3:6, we find this statement from Jehovah God. “For I am the LORD, I change not…” Our verse this morning declares to all who will listen that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His love will never change. His grace will never change. His Word will never change. His principles will never change. If you are His child, your position in the family of God will never change. - Man’s Decision
The first chapter of Romans gives us a very dark image of mankind without God. In the many different stages of running away from God and His love, man decided to change the glory of God into the image of himself and the natural world. Think about that for a minute. We tried to change God and drag Him down to our level and the level of the animal kingdom. - His Desire
No matter what we as a human race decide to do to our Creator, His love for us never changes. His desire is that we might be changed. I Corinthians 15:51-52 teaches us that. “We shall be changed.” First of all, God wants to change our lives by the power of the Gospel. That is why He gave us His Son, Jesus, for our salvation. He desires a relationship with us as our Heavenly Father. Secondly, He wants to change us for all eternity. He will change our mortality into immortality and our corruption into incorruption. Not only has He provided salvation to us, but He has also defeated death on our behalf. One day, when we all get to Heaven, what a glad reunion we will have with all of our loved ones and friends! Forever, together, we will rejoice in the light of His presence.
I must be honest and tell you that I do not always turn to Jesus right away when my life changes drastically. I experience a flood of emotions and sometimes I blame Him and question Him. I am so thankful that the Holy Spirit leads me and guides me to the right place, His open arms. When I do finally turn to Him, He has never failed to wrap His arms of love, grace, comfort, and compassion around me. HE NEVER CHANGES!!! No matter what I do, He never changes. He does not treat me based on how I treat Him. He treats me based upon His character, His power, and His promises. No matter how wicked and blasphemous the human race becomes, God still loves fallen man. He will still save each and every one that calls out to Him and puts their faith and trust in Jesus. HE NEVER CHANGES!!!
