Anticipation

Titus 2:13

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing

of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

We all know what anticipation is.  We all have had something in our life to look forward to.  We all have made plans, made preparations, and eagerly waited for the day or event to begin.  Anticipation is associated with something positive.  If we knew something negative was in our future, we would experience dread.  There is an event that is in our future we should all be anticipating.  Jesus is coming!  The Bible teaches it.  I believe it.  Do you?

  1. How We Should LiveLooking
    Titus 2:11 starts a passage of Scripture about the grace of God.  One of the things God’s grace does for us is teach us how to live.  We should constantly be looking for Jesus.  I believe that means everything we do, every plan we make, and every place we go should be done with the understanding that He is coming back for His church.  When was the last time you thought about His return?
  2. What Will Happenthe glorious appearing
    Our hope is Jesus.  In Him we have our salvation, our security, our joy, and our hope.  This world is not our home and it has nothing permanent or eternal to offer us.  He alone is our hope and will one day return for us.  What a blessed hope we have!  What a glorious appearing that will be!  I hope you are eagerly anticipating His return.
  3. Who He Isthe great God
    Jesus is God!  Throughout the Bible, we see this very important foundational truth.  Jesu is more than a good person, more than a great teacher, more than a historical figure, more than a compassionate humanitarian, and more than someone who died for a cause.  JESUS IS GOD!!!  I love the wording of this verse, “the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ”.  He is God, He is great, and he is our Savior!  And… He is coming!!!

I hope you are looking for His return.  I hope you are at peace in this very troubled world knowing that your hope is in Christ.  I hope you are encouraged to live for Him today knowing that one day, He will come again.
