I’m Asking Again

Luke 11:1-13

Prayer is essential in the Christian life. In order to experience any joy, peace, or victory, we must pray. As the Scripture teaches us, we must constantly be in the attitude of prayer. One day I realized that my prayer life was consumed with some of the same requests over and over. At first I was bothered by this. Then, I remembered this passage of Scripture where Jesus taught His disciples the principles of prayer. He told them to ask, and keep on asking. He told them to seek, and keep on seeking. He told them to knock, and keep on knocking. While thinking about this and evaluating my personal prayer life, the lyrics to this song came to me. I hope they will be a blessing and an encouragement to you.

Thank you, Lord, for what You did for me that day on Mount Calvary
When You became sin’s sacrifice
And when I called on Your name, You willingly came
And saved me, and gave me new life
Now my sins are all forgiven, my new home is in Heaven
The Holy Spirit dwells within
What I’m about to ask You for, You’ve granted ten thousand times or more
But now I’m asking again

Lord, please hear me when I pray
Guide my steps along the way
And give me Your strength to daily stand

I won’t ask You for fame or money while traveling on this journey
I just want to bring glory to You
Every day is a new beginning, all my battles You are winning
Each morning, Your mercies are brand new
Before I know what I will face today, I will bow here in this place and say
Lord, on You I completely depend
Yes, I know how much You care for me
So many times You’ve answered this prayer for me
But now I’m asking again

Lord, please hear me when I pray
Guide my steps along the way
And give me Your strength to daily stand
