Matthew 11:28-30
One of the first words that we understand as little babies is “come”. The first word that we perceive from our Creator is “come” (Genesis 7:1). The first word that we trust from our Savior is “come” (Matthew 11:28). The first prompting of the Spirit that we obey is “come” (Revelation 22:17). At the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of the Bible we have the invitation of the Trinity. The very reason God gave us His Word is so that we might come to Him. Today He stands with open arms stretched out to this lost and dark world and He is saying to all who will hear, “Come”.
If you want to be forgiven, come to me, come to me
If you want a life worth living, come to me, just come to me
I will take your sin and sorrow, I will give hope for tomorrow
Come to me, just come to me
All your guilt and all your shame, let it go, call on my name
Come to me, come to me, won’t you please come to me
Come to me and I will be the One Who gives victory
Come to me and you will be a child in God’s family
This dark world with all it’s sin destroys and kills you from within
I can make you new again, come to me, come to me
Won’t you please come to me
Walk no more down sin’s road, turn around and come to me
I will take your heavy load, come to me, just come to me
I can break the chains that bind you, give you joy as mercy finds you
Come to me, just come to me
All your guilt and all your shame, let it go call on my name
Come to me, come to me, won’t you please come to me
Come to me and I will be the One Who gives victory
Come to me and you will be a child in God’s family
This dark world with all it’s sin destroys and kills you from within
I can make you new again, come to me, come to me
Won’t you please come to me
I thank God for the day when I heard Jesus say
Come to me, just come to me, won’t you please come to me
