Exodus 14:13-31
Acts 12:1-17
In these two passages of Scripture we have prime examples of God’s power in the lives of His people. In the Old Testament account, He delivered an entire nation from certain destruction. In the New Testament story, He answered the prayer of a group of believers and miraculously set Peter free from prison. The Bible is full of these accounts. As you read through it from Genesis to Revelation you are left with this realization; God is all powerful and He will show Himself mighty on your behalf. We should never be surprised at what He can and will do.
God’s people were running through the desert dry
The Red Sea before them, Pharaoh’s army behind
It looked like they were trapped, there was nothing they could do
God divided the waters, on dry ground they passed through
As they rejoiced in victory, this truth they realized
Once you know who He is, then what He does ain’t no surprise
Once you know who He is, then what He does ain’t no surprise
He’ll work a miracle before your very eyes
No matter how deep the valley, He’ll bring you right through
Every burden you carry will roll right off of you
After He wins the battle, this truth you’ll realize
Once you know who He is, then what He does ain’t no surprise
Peter was in prison, he was surely gonna die
No way to escape, chained to soldiers on both sides
God’s people were praying and claimed His mighty power
Then the Angel of the Lord walked him out that very hour
When they were reunited, this truth they realized
Once you know who He is, then what He does ain’t no surprise
Once you know who He is, then what He does ain’t no surprise
He’ll work a miracle before your very eyes
No matter how deep the valley, He’ll bring you right through
Every burden you carry will roll right off of you
After He wins the battle, this truth you’ll realize
Once you know who He is, then what He does ain’t no surprise
