No Hopeless Sorrow

I Thessalonians 4:13-18

Not too long ago, the Lord laid this passage of Scripture on my heart. I wrote a few devotions from it and I preached a few sermons from it. While studying this passage, I was greatly encouraged by the truth it declares. In my opinion, the key phrase to this passage is found in the opening words of verse 14, “For if we believe”. Believing God opens up so many doors in our Christian lives. While meditating on this passage, these lyrics came to me.

There’s gonna be a meeting one day in the clouds
Jesus is coming, I wish He’d come right now
He’s gonna bring with Him all the saints who’ve gone
Across death’s river to their heavenly home
So…

There’s no hopeless sorrow, there’s no permanent grief
There’s no constant crying without relief
For there’s a glad day coming, we will see them again
Loved ones reunited, all because of Him

I’m listening for the trumpet any day to sound
I think I already mentioned I wish He’d come right now
Jesus gave us the victory over death and the grave
When we lose a loved one, we can bow and say

There’s no hopeless sorrow, there’s no permanent grief
There’s no constant crying without relief
For there’s a glad day coming, we will see them again
Loved ones reunited, all because of Him
